BATTLEGROUNDS has special weapon skin crates that can be acquired via in-game currency or on the Steam Community Market, then on some crates you'll need a 'Weapon Cosmetic key ($2.50 each)' in order to open the crate.
Summary[edit | edit source]
Weapon skins were introduced during the anniversary of BATTLEGROUNDS. These weapon skins in PUBG are cosmetic only.
Just like clothing crates, weapon skin crates have 2 versions...
- Purchase with BP with a random chance (the Triumph Crate is at a 20% chance) at getting a weapon crate out of several other crates with no key needed.
- Purchase with BP and it can be unlocked with a key.
Weekly crates give you duplicates, but you can either exchange duplicates for BP or sell them on the Steam Community Market. These weapon skins are entirely cosmetic, holding no gameplay function. Unlike some games like Call of Duty weapon skins, the better your skin, the better weapon statistics your weapon has. BATTLEGROUNDS isn't this, it's not pay 2 win.
Rarities[edit | edit source]
(from common to rarest)
- Grey (Classic)
- Green (Special)
- Blue (Rare)
- Violet (Elite)
- Purple (Epic)
- Red (Legendary)
Questions[edit | edit source]
Q: How do I get the Year One (Anniversary) Scar skin?
A: From now (3/26/18) to May 1st, anyone who logs into PUBG will get the skin dropped into their account. The skin neither marketable, tradable or destructible for BP.
