The Pioneer Crates were the standard crates in BATTLEGROUNDS to buy with in-game currency.

Summary

Pioneer Crates contain semi-random gear for players. They are acquired with Battle Points (BP), which are given every time a round has ended. The amount of BP earned depends on how far one has managed to survive, as well as number of kills and shots which hit another player. After each crate has been opened, the price of the next crate increases. The crates reset every Sunday at 8pm EST.

This crate got replaced with the Wanderer & Survivor Crates.

Q: Will the original pioneer crates be available to purchase in game until release?

A: No, Pioneer crates will no longer be available once the Wanderer & Survivor Crates are introduced. However, most of the items from the Pioneer Crate will be included in the two free crates that will be available after the monthly update on August 3rd 2017.

  • A: The reason crates get more expensive the more you buy is to enforce a soft limit on the number of crates you can buy a week. This creates an economy based on our skins. Limiting the number of crates you can obtain a week is important to make sure there is rarity within items so there’s value in the marketplace.
