7.62mm Ammo is an ammunition type in BATTLEGROUNDS.

Summary[edit | edit source]

The 7.62mm caliber is a common cartridge in game, used in the AKM, Kar98K, M24, R1895, SKS, Groza and Mk14 EBR. It is more powerful than the in-game 5.56mm cartridge.

Based on the in-game ammo box, the cartridges in the box are based on the real-life 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge, originally developed for the M14 and FN FAL rifles. It is wrongly depicted that all of the 7.62mm weapons in the game use the same calibre, which is most likely a gameplay design decision to reduce confusion among ammo types. In real-life, the AKM, SKS and OTs-14 uses the Soviet era 7.62x39mm cartridge, the R1895 revolver uses 7.62x38mmR cartridges and Kar98k uses 7.92x57mm cartridges
